Im2Hands: Learning Attentive Implicit Representation of Interacting Two-Hand Shapes

We present Implicit Two Hands (Im2Hands), the first neural implicit representation of two interacting hands. Unlike existing methods on two-hand reconstruction that rely on a parametric hand model and/or low-resolution meshes, Im2Hands can produce fine-grained geometry of two hands with high hand-to-hand and hand-to-image coherency. To handle the shape complexity and interaction context between two hands, Im2Hands models the occupancy volume of two hands - conditioned on an RGB image and coarse 3D keypoints - by two novel attention-based modules responsible for (1) initial occupancy estimation and (2) context-aware occupancy refinement, respectively. Im2Hands first learns per-hand neural articulated occupancy in the canonical space designed for each hand using query-image attention. It then refines the initial two-hand occupancy in the posed space to enhance the coherency between the two hand shapes using query-anchor attention. In addition, we introduce an optional keypoint refinement module to enable robust two-hand shape estimation from predicted hand keypoints in a single-image reconstruction scenario. We experimentally demonstrate the effectiveness of Im2Hands on two-hand reconstruction in comparison to related methods, where ours achieves state-of-the-art results. On the spectral depolarisation and lidar ratio of mineral dust provided in the AERONET version 3 inversion product

Knowledge of the particle lidar ratio (SĪ³) and the particle linear depolarisation ratio (Ī“Ī³) for different aerosol types allows for aerosol typing and aerosol-Type separation in lidar measurements. Reference values generally originate from dedicated lidar observations but might also be obtained from the inversion of AErosol RObotic NETwork (AERONET) sun/sky radiometer measurements. This study investigates the consistency of spectral SĪ³ and Ī“Ī³ provided in the recently released AERONET version 3 inversion product for observations of undiluted mineral dust in the vicinity of the following major deserts: Gobi, Sahara, Arabian, Great Basin, and Great Victoria. Pure dust conditions are identified by an Angstrƶm exponent < 0:4 and a fine-mode fraction < 0:1. The values of spectral SĪ³ are found to vary for the different source regions but generally show an increase with decreasing wavelength. The feature correlates to AERONET, retrieving an increase in the imaginary part of the refractive index with decreasing wavelength. The smallest values of SĪ³ D 35- 45 sr are found for mineral dust from the Great Basin desert, while the highest values of 50-70 sr have been inferred from AERONET observations of Saharan dust. Values of SĪ³ at 675, 870, and 1020 nm seem to be in reasonable agreement with available lidar observations, while those at 440 nm are up to 10 sr higher than the lidar reference. The spectrum of Ī“Ī³ shows a maximum of 0.26-0.31 at 1020 nm and decreasing values as wavelength decreases. AERONET-derived Ī“Ī³ values at 870 and 1020 nm are in line with the lidar reference, while values of 0.19-0.24 at 440 nm are smaller than the independent lidar observations by a difference of 0.03 to 0.08. This general behaviour is consistent with earlier studies based on AERONET version 2 products.Peer reviewe

Wireless sEMG System with a Microneedle-Based High-Density Electrode Array on a Flexible Substrate

Surface electromyography (sEMG) signals reflect muscle contraction and hence, can provide information regarding a user's movement intention. High-density sEMG systems have been proposed to measure muscle activity in small areas and to estimate complex motion using spatial patterns. However, conventional systems based on wet electrodes have several limitations. For example, the electrolyte enclosed in wet electrodes restricts spatial resolution, and these conventional bulky systems limit natural movements. In this paper, a microneedle-based high-density electrode array on a circuit integrated flexible substrate for sEMG is proposed. Microneedles allow for high spatial resolution without requiring conductive substances, and flexible substrates guarantee stable skin-electrode contact. Moreover, a compact signal processing system is integrated with the electrode array. Therefore, sEMG measurements are comfortable to the user and do not interfere with the movement. The system performance was demonstrated by testing its operation and estimating motion using a Gaussian mixture model-based, simplified 2D spatial pattern.111Ysciescopu

Nowadays, the process of urbanization in Vietnam took place at a relatively high speed compared to the other regions. However, the process of urbanization is also facing many difficulties, almost urban must be concerned with well-managed, urban planning and construction work. when the industrial revolution 4.0 is booming, the successful construction of a smart city model will be able to create a breakthrough solution in solving problems. In recent years, the application of smart mobile devices has been introduced into Vietnam and thrived in many economic sectors, smart technology has crept into the fields of telecommunications, banking, e-commerce, payment and communication. Although majority cities in Vietnam, which not yet capable of developing technology, but still a potential level of understanding and correct orientation on the ICT driven adapted with reference to smart city concept. This study assessed the model of dimension issues on approach, paradigm, and source of capital which play the most important role in building smart city then case study was analyzed through 3 citiesā€™ smart projects Bac Ninh, Da Lat, Nha Trang. While Bac Ninh and Nha Trang city has specific directions and strategies based on the city's SWOT assessments, Da Lat city has not yet achieved some basic requirements for conducting construction steps of smart city. This research contributes a perspective to find the adaptive direction for decision-making on smart city developing in medium-size cities of Vietnam

The Role of Alcoholics' Insight in Abstinence from Alcohol in Male Korean Alcohol Dependents

This study was performed to examine the relationship between the abstinence results of alcohol dependents after discharge and the level of insight at the time of discharge. 117 male Korean alcohol dependents discharged from a community-based alcohol treatment center were followed up to determine the initial months of abstinence on a successive basis (IMA), total months of abstinence during 12-month period (TMA), and complete abstinence for one full year after discharge. Analyses of abstinence results with adjustment for the differences in baseline characteristics were performed for subjects' insight levels (poor, fair and good). The mean IMA of patients with good insight was significantly (p<0.01) longer than that of patients with poor insight and TMA of patients with good insight was significantly (p<0.001) longer than that of others. Using patients with good insight as the reference, patients with poor insight showed an adjusted odds ratio (OR) of 0.07 (95% confidence interval [CI]=0.01-0.75, p<0.05) for complete abstinence for one full year after discharge and patients with fair insight, adjusted OR of 0.17 (95% CI=0.03-0.81, p<0.05). These results suggest that alcohol dependents' insight could be regarded as a factor related with abstinence
